Verikick is a utility app that times how fast you kick in Taekwondo/Karate/Kung Fu by measuring the time in between the sounds made when you kick a hand target. Several kicking combinations are available for timing: (Yellow Belt kicking combination) Roundhouse-TurnaroundRoundhouse-Roundhouse-TurnaroundRoundhouse, 3 spinning hook kicks, and 10 roundhouse kicks with either foot but with your foot touching the ground in between each one.

In addition to timing your kick speed, Verikick will also share your kick times with your friends and other Taekwondo students so you can compare and get better.

To setup VeriKick, one option must be set under the Settings/Manage Apps section of your phone. Under the VeriKick app the setting is "Enable Microphone". See image below. Once this is set you only need to click the start button in VeriKick. The app will listen for a pre-determined amount of time (5, 10, or 20 seconds are the options at the bottom of the app). If during this time VeriKick hears all of the kicks you have made on the hand target it will tell you how fast you are kicking in seconds. You then have the option of posting this time online so your friends can see it or just not post it at all. You also have the option of saving it private to your phone where only you will be able to see your time history. For this just select the option to "Save Kick Times Private" on the screen. If you would like others to see your kick times you will have to enter in a name for yourself. Select the student option and from the list that is displayed choose the "Enter New" option. You will be asked to type in your first name only (If possible, add your current Taekwondo school name to the end of your first name). With your user selected you then have the option after any kick you get a good time on to save that time along with your name so that others can see it. Please remember this is not a contest. You should only be concerned with becoming the best Taekwondo student you can be and not about who is the fastest around.

Please note that you have to hit the hand target for the set number of kicks. Otherwise, VeriKick will not be able to measure how fast you are kicking. The screen will update the total kicks as each kick is heard.

One additional option included in VeriKick that should normally not be needed is the sound threshold selection. Normally, VeriKick will adjust itself automatically when listening for kick sounds in a louder room. However, if you find that it is not detecting all kicks (and therefore not producing a kick time speed) try one of the higher settings for the sound threshold.
